What is the best mulch: The benefits of premium mulch

Mulched Plants are Healthy Plants: What is the best mulch?

For our clients, we recommend using premium shredded hardwood mulch. This type of mulch will offer the most benefits to your landscape and your plants.
Newly mulched landscape

Premium hardwood mulch includes only the bark off the tree and does not include the actual wood. It is ground three times to give a nice uniform, fluffy texture. Premium grade mulch is a great product to use for new installation and for areas where plants need lots of nutrients.

Double process mulch is a good product to use as well. There is just a wider range of particle sizes because the mulch isn’t ground as fine as the triple ground premium grade.

Another type of mulch that can be used for mature and established landscapes is double or triple ground mulch that also includes wood chips into the mixture. This doesn’t decompose as quickly, but still has beneficial nutrients for the plants. There is a range of sizes in the particles for this type of mulch, but it is a good value for using on a mature landscape.

Consider using a premium double or triple ground mulch for your landscape. All other organic mulches can have lots of weed seeds, blow around and don’t look as aesthetically pleasing as premium shredded hardwood mulch.

There are so many benefits of mulch and using premium double or triple shredded hardwood mulch can give you the most benefit.
